Edith Shiro is a clinical psychologist with a private practice in Miami, FL. She is a co-founder of the Trauma and Resilience Center (TR Center), and author of the book “The Unexpected Gift of Trauma: The Path to Posttraumatic Growth”.

Dr. Shiro has developed programs about Post-traumatic Growth and Conscious Parenting, and created tools to improve family relationships in today’s world. She has worked extensively with immigration and acculturation issues, as well as, with refugees and trauma survivors form various countries and cultures. Her focus is on trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), post-traumatic growth (PTG), resilience, and growth that can come from trauma. She was awarded the Hispanic Women of Distinction in 2018.
